The mission of the Dark Sky Crestone Foundation is to preserve and protect the nighttime environment and our birthright to natural dark skies through the promotion of environmentally responsible outdoor lighting practices, policy development, and collaborative agreements. Our efforts include public engagement, educational symposiums and festivals. We are dedicated to supporting our community's commitment to embrace and celebrate the natural starlight. We encourage individual and collective action to reduce and/or eliminate light pollution. In doing so, we aim to provide a healthier environment for wildlife, enhance human well-being, and ensure the continued appreciation and wonder of star-filled nights.
